never been a sport-o. don't think us ryans have the necessary aggression. we all tried basketball and mostly failed.

"RYAN!!! get ur butt under the hoop and put ur arms up! great! now pass the ball ta that kid!"

we eventually decided on sports without balls. literally and symbolically. swimming, crew, track... and we did alright with that stuff. not because we had brute strength or natural ability. cause we were still bigger than most the kids on the team.

now i won't speak for all of us ryans but i know that i still hold a grudge against competitive sports. watching sports always brings out that familiar "i suck at everything" feeling. that "i spent four years in highschool cutting gym, avoiding airborn vollyballs and hiding under the bleachers during softball" feeling. well no more! i will be a part of american culture! i will watch sports on tv! dammit! and i choose college basketball.
